µþ²¹³ó°ù²¹¾±²Ô’s Tree of Life
It is a four centuries old, lone, khejri or ghaf tree
(Prosopis cineraria) located in µþ²¹³ó°ù²¹¾±²Ô’s desert. It is approximately 25 miles south of Manama, near
Jabal Dukhan, which is the highest elevation in Bahrain.
It is not certain how the tree survives - as Bahrain has little to no rain throughout the year. Its roots run 50 meters deep, which may be sufficient to reach a water source.
